So, I decided to try my hand at making bookmarks from ribbon and beads. I think they turned out pretty well... This one is my favorite! I think it looks a bit vintage and I've named it a "book bra". The ribbon is elastic so it slips over the cover and your pages.
I've started an Etsy page and will have the bookmarks and some other things up for sale there soon.

New Toy!
I finally bought the L Letterpress!!! It's been awesome. There are some glitches in it, but they are fixable - so say the guys at Boxcar press. However, I have one more thing to add. The system works with the Sizzix Big Kick and seems to help a lot! I've been using mine for a couple of days now and I haven't cracked a single plate. I think the Big Kick actually has just the right amount of pressure and still makes a great impression. I ended up spending only $35, w/ a coupon, for the system since I didn't buy the machine with it - I already owned the Big Kick. That's a huge savings making my start-up perfect. I'll be getting my plates from Boxcar though, because the L's plates do stain badly...
I'm so excited to get started on a line of cards and designing my sister's wedding invites and such. My goal is to live off of craft shows this summer while I'm unemployed (and not collecting unemployment - thanks Pennsylvania school laws...) so I don't have to bust my butt for minimum wage during the summer!?! So here's hoping I can get enough things together to support me. I'll have some pictures up later to show what I've done with my L.

Blogging for real!
I'm getting back into blogging! My mini-goal is to blog every other day and put up one new project each week and a tutorial once a month. My major goal is to still join a design team. So, off I go - wish me luck. I'll be posting new photos into my gallery a little later. Cheers!

Snowmaggedon 2010
So, I've had some free time for the last week because of the incredible amount of snow we've gotten in Southern Pennsylvania. I finally got back to scrapbooking and made some cards for Valentine's Day. I got in on the challenge again at SPCC and made this summer layout. The colors are nice and bright and I couldn't help doing a summer layout with 4 feet of snow outside. Now I'm super hungry for sun and a cheeseburger!

I'm here!
So it's been quite awhile since I last posted or have done any scrapbooking, but I'm back. I had to find time because I'm in a (hopefully) long challenge over Croppin' Paradise. They are hosting a survivor style challenge and I joined up. The first layout was due today and the challenge was to scrap about your favorite place to eat. I did 5 Guys Burgers & Fries. I LOVE that place! The LO turned out cute. My tripod broke so I wasn't able to get a really great shot of the LO.

Busy day
I've been hard at work and just finished another LO for a challenge over at twisted sketches. It was a fun one as I got to use a transparency I've had sitting around for awhile. It's a very simple and clean LO, but I like it. The photo is so important to me that I like it as the focal. I didn't really mean to have a monochromatic page, but it works. The title transparency says "In dreams and in love there are no impossibilities."
